easypay solution for MBWay

MBWay is the payment method that has shown the highest growth in Portugal, thanks to its simplicity and reduced payment friction.

How it works

MBWay allows customers to pay using their mobile phone. Through the app, customers can link a debit or credit card to a mobile number and make instant purchases and payments.

  1. The customer subscribes to the service via Multibanco or online banking, linking their bank account to their mobile number
  2. They complete activation through the MBWay app
  3. For each payment, they receive transaction details on their phone and approve the purchase using a PIN or fingerprint

Benefits of MBWay with easypay

  • Merchants do not need to associate a mobile number
  • No limit on the number of incoming transfers
  • Multiple refunds are allowed via MBWay up to the paid amount

The merchant only needs to generate a payment request via API or the easypay Backoffice. The customer must approve it on their mobile phone within 5 minutes. If the transaction is successful, the merchant receives a notification.
